AND ONE OF THE THINGS WE MOST SORELY NEEDED IN BOTH INSTANCES, QUITE OFTEN WAS SOME GUIDING PROVISIONAL DOCUMENT THAT LAYS OUT WHAT'S THE FUTURE. I'VE SEEN WAY TOO MANY ZONING APPLICATIONS COME IN ASKING FOR VARIANCES FROM THE OLD COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. JUST RIGHT DOWN IN THE DOWNTOWN CORRIDOR.
SO I'M VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE WE ARE NOW ABLE TO STRIKE OUT ON FIRM FOOTING AS WE THINK ABOUT STRONG PLANNING AND ZONING, LAND USE POLICY, AS WELL AS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR THE FUTURE. I THINK THIS PLAN ALLOWS US TO LEARN FROM THE LESSONS OF OUR PAST, EMBRACE OUR FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES. AND ALSO, I'M ALSO VERY PROUD THAT WITHIN THIS FRAMEWORK, WE HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE AND IMPLEMENT A NEW GOVERNANCE

SO I'M VERY PROUD OF THIS. THE LAST AND FINAL THING I'LL SAY IS THAT I LOOK FORWARD TO THIS PASSING FULL COUNCIL AND BEING A PART OF WHAT WE DO HERE IN THE DUNCAN HERE IN DUNCANVILLE. AND I ENCOURAGE THE COURAGE THAT WILL BE REQUIRED AS WE THREAD THE NEEDLE WITH THE NECESSARY CODE AMENDMENTS TO MAKE THIS PLAN REAL AND AND CREATE RESULTS. AND SO WITH THAT, I MAKE THAT MOTION.
