FOUR D AND WE WERE GOING TO TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO KIND OF BRING YOU UP TO SPEED ON WHERE WE'RE AT WITH SOME OF THE RENOVATIONS FOR THAT CENTER. AS YOU MAY RECALL, SISTER GIRLS KITCHEN HAD COME TO THE EDC WITH THE GRANT APPLICATION FOR SIGNAGE AND FOR GREASE TRAP AND DC-DC SUPPORTED THE REQUEST OF THE GREASE TRAP AND THE SIGNAGE. WE HAVE NOW BEEN ABLE TO HAVE THE GREASE TRAP BE APPLIED TOWARDS THE IMPROVEMENTS OF THE SHOPPING CENTER, OR TOWARDS THE GRANT THAT WAS GRANTED TO THE SHOPPING CENTER OWNER. THIS COMMUNITY FEATURING LOCAL BUSINESSES, HISTORIC CHARM, PEDESTRIAN FRIENDLY STREETS. THE FOCUS OF THIS WAS HISTORICALLY, THE AREA HAS BEEN A HUB FOR LOCAL EVENTS AND GATHERING PLACE FOR RESIDENTS. THE CURRENT STATE IS DEFINITELY A NEED FOR ENHANCEMENTS. THE CORRIDOR HAS A STRONG POTENTIAL FOR INCREASED FOOT TRAFFIC AND BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT, BUT LACKS VIBRANT VISUAL AND ELEMENTS TO DRAW ATTENTION. SOMETHING THAT I GUESS THE CITY KIND OF DEEMED THAT WOULD HELP WITH THAT WOULD BE TO ADD SOME MORE DECORATIVE FLOWER BASKETS ON THE EXISTING DECORATIVE POLES. THE 12 THAT RUN THROUGH THE DOWNTOWN CORRIDOR FROM CENTER STREET TO DAVIS. EXCUSE ME. WHY THIS PROJECT? SO IT INTRODUCES VIBRANT SEASONAL FLOWER DISPLAYS TO CREATE A WELCOMING AND VISUALLY APPEALING ENVIRONMENT.

IMPROVING THE CURB APPEAL TO ATTRACT MORE FOOT TRAFFIC AND ENCOURAGE PATRON PATRONAGE OF DOWNTOWN ESTABLISHMENTS. UTILIZE DROUGHT. UTILIZING DROUGHT TOLERANT AND NATIVE PLANT SPECIES TO ENSURE ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND REDUCE MAINTENANCE COSTS. AND THEN THE HANGING BASKETS WILL STRATEGICALLY BE PLACED TO MAXIMIZE VISIBILITY AND IMPACT THE COMPLEMENTING EXISTING STREETSCAPE STRUCTURES AND FEATURES. SO WE'RE JUST ASKING FOR A LITTLE BIT OF HELP WITH GETTING THIS PROJECT STARTED. JUSTIFICATION.

SO THIS PROJECT DOES ALIGN WITH THE DC X GOALS OF ENHANCING CURB APPEAL AND SUPPORTING DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION. IT'S A COST EFFECTIVE AND SUSTAINABLE EFFOR. THAT USES DROUGHT TOLERANT PLANTS AND IT LEVERAGES EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE. THE LIGHT POLES ALREADY EXISTING TO REDUCE ADDITIONAL COST. WE HOPE THAT THIS WILL IMPACT THAT AREA BY INCREASING THE FOOT TRAFFIC. AND THE BUSINESS ACTIVITY IN THE DOWNTOWN CORRIDOR FOR A LONG TERM VALUE, AND CREATING A VIBRANT AND ATTRACTIVE DOWNTOWN AREA FOR THE RESIDENTS. TIMELINE. SO IF WE RECEIVE APPROVAL FOR THIS PROJECT TODAY, WE CAN COMPLETE BIDS AND CONFIRM PRICING PROCUREMENT BEFORE JANUARY. WE CAN START INSTALLING A LOT OF THOSE PLANTER BASKETS DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.

AND THEN WE CAN START INSTALLING ACTUAL VEGETATION IN MARCH RIGHT IN TIME FOR SPRING. SO YOU'LL SEE THE EFFECTS OF THAT. THOSE BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS HANGING OVER THERE THROUGHOUT MARCH.

EXECUTION PLAN. SO WE ENSURE TO BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH ALL CITY AND STREET ORDINANCES AND TRAFFIC SAFETY REGULATIONS. IN ORDER NOT TO IMPEDE TRAFFIC OR PUT ANYBODY IN JEOPARDY.
